This is an honest question. I think many people have been swayed by the medical profession’s opinion of Chiropractors in specific and all non-allopathic (all of the nontraditional) practitioners in general, and consequently most people are unsure of what our true credentials are.
The short answer to this question is “Yes, we are REAL Doctors”.
If your next question is “well then, WHAT are your credentials?” I would tell you that you are starting to ask the right questions. As a matter of fact, you should probably know the credentials of ALL of your practitioners who you hold out as an expert.

As a point of reference, here is the current curriculum at my alma mater, Northwestern Health Sciences University: Chiro_Curriculum-Sheet_Jan-2021.pdf. When you review it, you will notice the curriculum stretches over 10 trimesters with the LEAST number of trimester credit hours being 21.75 and the most being 30.75. Have you ever taken that many credit hours of higher learning? Did it last for 3-4 years) That level of unrelenting intensity is TOUGH!!
When you look at the course outline you will notice the heavy emphasis on sciences, including most of the specialties. If you look closely you will notice that there is one topic that is only mildly represented. That topic would be Pharmacology.
Why? Because it is a PHILOSOPHY thing. Chiropractic Philosophy is Your body has the ability to heal itself. Period.
There is a PART B in my practice: you take care of the things you truly value and you do not wait for them to be lost or fall apart.

Your health is your Numero Uno Asset and you should take care of it. Then when you have ahealth challenges, as we all do at some point, then we, as Chiropractors, look to assist your body’s natural abilities to heal from the inside out with the Chiropractic Adjustment and appropriate lifestyle coaching.
You see Chiropractic is not only an alternative to traditional healthcare, but also a lifestyle based on a Philosophy.
So what is YOUR HEALTH CARE PHILOSOPHY? Have you ever even thought about it? Most people don’t. Most people exercise the same medical and health decision making that their parents did, and they go to the doctor when they are sick or broken. They have never stopped to consider what their MVA (most valuable asset) is, let alone come up with a philosophy and an action plan.

My motto in practice and in life is “to leave them better than I found them”. I want to make a difference in people’s lives, influencing them to think and ask questions and to ACT in ways that improve the quality of their lives and their family’s lives now AND later. Chiropractic and Fitness are my primary tools to accomplish this mission. I am blessed to work with people who are open to evaluating themselves and their philosophies and who find my a reliable coach who will meet them where they are and give it “to them straight”, with a little bit of humor sprinkled in for good measure. I hope for each person reading this, that you have a physician in your life that you can rely on and trust to give you good guidance when you need it most.
