Well, the culprit is the "3 Ts of Stress"
Trauma, Toxins and Thoughts
Trauma
Whether it's a spectacular fall on the ski slope or a tripping down the stairs off of the bus (no names mentioned), or sitting at your gaming station for hours and hours with no break (again, no names mentioned), trauma can knock your spine out of alignment.
Toxins
Preservatives, pharmaceuticals, parabens, pollution, processed foods, weed killers, and household cleaners to name a few. These toxins INSULT our bodies and our nervous systems, causing an inflammatory response amongst other things. I like to call this the "soup" we live in - both the Environment on the OUTSIDE of our bodies, but also the environment on the inside.
Thoughts
Social media, fighting with your spouse, worrying about the elections, thinking of all of the "What If" scenarios, ... you get the idea.
Of course right now you are thinking -
"yeah, but these are in my life ALL OF THE TIME!!"
Agreed. They are. And your body is usually capable of adapting to all of that stress without any damage.
HOWEVER, sometimes the stress bombards you at such a level or frequency that the body CANNOT adapt fast enough, then the body buckles under the stress and "subluxates" (that funny long word that means the bones shift out of alignment) and thus you need to get adjusted.
So, if the 3 Ts are ever-present, than how do you stay healthy? Good job, you are asking the right question.
ANSWER: You ACTIVELY Manage
the 5 Spokes of Health: Exercise, Fuel, Rest, Attitude, Functional Nervous System.
---AND---
Eliminate the 3T stressors that you can, everywhere you can.
Minimize the 3 T stressors that you cannot eliminate.
Maintain your Good Habits: exercise, fuel, sleep, positive attitude, get adjusted regularly. Are you seeing the trend?
Recognize that no one is perfect and you will realize too late that something has had a negative impact on you.
It will happen. Take note, get back on track as quickly as you can.
Exercise, Fuel, Rest, Positive Attitude and Get Adjusted ASAP.
Eliminate, minimize, maintain. Get Adjusted. Repeat :)
THE MOST IMPORTANT aspect of All of This is: CONSISTENCY.
Eliminate, minimize, maintain, get adjusted, is GREAT for Right Now - to keep you healthy for Right Now.
BUT!
If you eliminate, minimize, maintain, get adjusted, repeat, over TIME you are also INSURING your health for the future.
